Second round of candidates shortlisted for interviews for 3-year MTech (RA) July 2017

A second round of candidates shortlisted for interviews for our 3-year MTech (RA) programme on July 12th, 2017, have been notified by email. The shortlisting criteria for this round has been listed below. If a candidate satisfies the below criteria, has applied to IIT-H and has not received the call letter, please contact us immediately at mtech_cse@iith.ac.in.

  • Candidate should not have indicated that they are not interested in MTech (RA)
  • Candidate should not have already accepted or declined an offer made in an earlier cycle in CSE at IIT-H
  • GATE/Percentage-GPA cutoffs
    • General/OBC (Creamy layer)
      • For candidates without IIT/NIT background: >= 80% or >= 8.5 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 76% or >= 8.6 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • For candidates with IIT/NIT background: >= 8.0 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 7.8 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • GATE score in CS&IT >= 560
    • OBC (Non-creamy)
      • For candidates without IIT/NIT background: >= 80% or >= 8.5 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 72% or >= 8.2 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • For candidates with IIT/NIT background: >= 8.0 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 7.5 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • GATE score in CS&IT >= 530
    • SC
      • For candidates without IIT/NIT background: >= 75% or >= 8.0 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 68% or >= 7.8 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • For candidates with IIT/NIT background: >= 7.4 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 7.4 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • GATE score in CS&IT >= 470
    • ST
      • For candidates without IIT/NIT background: >= 75% or >= 8.0 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 68% or >= 7.8 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • For candidates with IIT/NIT background: >= 7.4 CGPA in a Masters degree (OR) >= 7.4 CGPA in a Bachelors degree
      • GATE score in CS&IT >= 400

           

           

NOTE:

1. The department reserves the right to set a suitable cutoff criteria for shortlisting the candidates for exam/interview. The department also reserves the right to not select any candidate.

2. Please note that in all the aforementioned criteria, when percentage or GPA criterion is mentioned, we use the percentage criterion only when the application information does not contain a GPA. If not, we use the GPA information (and not converted percentages).
