CSE Dept Welcomes Dr. Sandipan Dandapat as an Associate Professor.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Hyderabad is pleased to welcome Dr. Sandipan Dandapat as an Associate Professor.

Prior to joining IITH in 2025, Dr. Dandapat was a Principal Applied Researcher at Microsoft India (since 2016) and a Research Scientist at Xerox Research Centre India (2015-2016). Before his distinguished industry career, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE at IIT Guwahati.

Dr. Dandapat completed his Master’s degree at IIT Kharagpur in 2008 and obtained his PhD from Dublin City University. His research interests span a broad spectrum of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI, including their theoretical foundations and practical implementations.

We are excited to have him on board and look forward to his contributions to our research and academic community.
