Abstract:

Machine learning in practical setting is an art. There are interesting challenges right from problem scoping to definition. Different stakeholders have different notions and understanding of concepts as we know in our curriculum. Yet we come across extremely knowledgeable practioners in their respective areas. Doing ML in wild or in companies is an interesting experience and I will share some of my experiences of making ML work in different domains. I hope to provide some glimpses of ML in practice in various companies.

Speaker Profile:

Ashish is an experienced AI/ML professional with a specialization in deep learning and natural language processing. He has 18 years of experience of working in the domain on AI and machine learning. This includes 11 years of post-PhD experience in multiple domains, including fintech, fashion, online media and advertising, oil and gas, manufacturing, IT systems, healthcare and messaging. He has acted as trusted machine learning advisor for start ups in diverse areas including fashion, fintech, agritech, healthcare, smart messaging, autonomous IT systems, HR and retail. In the past life, Ashish has worked as an assistant professor at prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in Computer Science and Engineering department.
