Abstract: The speaker will discuss caches, prefetchers, and data compaction in modern day processors, followed by some active research areas in this domain and their relevance in modern processors. Towards the end, she will briefly touch upon how a computer architect fits into the broader semiconductor industry landscape.

Bio: Dr. Dipika Deb is an MTS client SoC architect in AMD. Prior to AMD, she was with Intel. She has been working in the semiconductor industry for the past 4 years. She earned a Ph.D. and an M.Tech degree from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. She did her B.Tech from Tezpur University, Assam. She has published articles in reputed venues such as ESWEEK, TPDS, TODAES, JPDC, IET-CDT and VLSID. During her doctoral studies, she was selected for a prestigious Indo-Taiwan industrial internship at ITRI, Taiwan. She is actively engaged in research activities in the areas of Multicore architecture, Network on Chip, Reconfigurable Computing, ML-based architecture and On-chip Security Attacks.
